Ephesians in August: Putting On the New Self: Living Out Your Health in Christ

Rachel Mitchell

Ephesians 4:24 says, “Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” This isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily act of surrender. Every day, we get to choose whether we live in our old patterns of thinking and behaving, or step into the new identity Christ has given us.

In this episode, we’ll talk about what it looks like to “take off” the old self in your health journey—whether that’s unhealthy habits, negative self-talk, or striving in your own strength—and instead “put on” the new self, rooted in righteousness, grace, and freedom.

You’ll learn:

  • How to recognize the old patterns of behavior and thought that keep you stuck
  • Practical steps to replace unhealthy habits with life-giving ones
  • Why health is more about identity in Christ than willpower or quick fixes
  • How to walk in daily renewal so your body and spirit align with who you truly are

This journey isn’t about perfection—it’s about daily surrender and transformation. When you choose to put on your new self, your health habits begin to reflect the grace and freedom you already have in Christ.

🌿 Scripture: Ephesians 4:24
Takeaway: True health is found when we daily live from our new identity in Christ, not our old patterns.
